UA Tech at CES 2018

Ukraine will once again showcase its IoT and innovation achievements to the world.

For the second time in a row Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA) together with Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) are organizing the UA TECH Expo Zone at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) - one of the largest consumer electronics conferences, which will be held on January 9-12 in Las Vegas.

This time Ukrainian pavilion will be represented by 10 best startups, which is 2 more than in January, 2017.

It is extremely important to introduce the country’s innovative achievements at the highest international level. I`ve got an idea of contest a year ago, and I`m very happy that our Association together with Western NIS Enterprise Fund realized it, for the second time arranging a booth of the Ukrainian developers’ solutions at CES. We run a thorough selection of the projects nationwide, inviting only the real experts – top-rank investors to the jury. It allows our winners to succeed in their search for partners, clients and the like right at the exhibition. It should be pointed out that last year 7 out of 8 startups attracted investment. We expect our 10 winners to raise the bar this year.

Olga Afanasyeva
Executive Director of the UVCA

For three years in a row, we’ve been supporting projects related to the development of a startup ecosystem in Ukraine, since it is one of the WNISEF’s main priorities. We are convinced that only those innovative business solutions that offer value-added products and can compete in the global market will raise Ukraine’s economy to a new level. Products developed by Ukrainian startups, such as Petcube, Grammarly, Depositphotos correlate with global market trends. Most Ukrainian startups that participated at CES-2017 found reputable investors and started to export their products. And we believe that UA TECH EXPO ZONE at CES-2018 will elevate Ukrainian startups to new heights.

Jaroslawa Johnson
President and CEO of the Western NIS Enterprise Fund

The second time at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), that takes place every year in Las Vegas, Ukraine will present its national Tech Expo exhibiting 10 best startups, which were chosen by UVCA members – leading Ukrainian and foreign investors.

Making roads safer.

Discoperi, Inc. is a startup company that saves lives by identifying risky drivers and informing the other drivers on the road about potential threat so that they can avoid traffic accident. In 2016 1.3 mm people died in road accidents, 75% of which were caused by risky drivers. Our mission is to lower this number down to zero. For doing that we developed System EYE. System EYE consists of a device, AI algorithms and connectivity features. Every car becomes a data provider about surrounding risk factors. Once it captures something – it informs the driver as well as other drivers in the same area, so they can avoid potential collision.

A farmer has only to set up the mission and drone will follow the trajectory adjusted, spraying the necessary volume of pesticides on each specific part of the field. At the same time, the electrostatic spraying ensures the maximum coverage of crop protection application. Kray Protection UAS performs the high operational speed - up to 70 mph, which allows reaching the coverage up to 1200 acres per day. It is an easy-to-use, efficient and affordable solution, which solves the main crop dusting problems faced by farmers all over the world.
