UVCA Day with YCombinator: September 20

UVCA is happy to announce Y Combinator visit to Ukraine. This is the first time that YC visits Ukraine.

Our special guest is Gustaf Alstromer - YC partner with his own successful story about starting startup with YC.

Gustaf spent 4.5 years at Airbnb where he worked as a Product Lead on the Growth team, a team he helped start in 2012. Prior to Airbnb, Gustaf was Head of Growth at Voxer, and before that, he was CEO & cofounder of Heysan, which was part of the YC W07 batch. He also has expertise investing in startups as angel. Gustaf is passionate about products that change the world.

YC Day with Y Combinator will start with Office hours with Y Combinator.

Office hours will be 30 minutes each. We recommend coming with a specific question or challenge that you want feedback on. We're also happy to answer questions you might have about YC and the application process.

6.30 PM - 8 PM

We invite entrepreneurs and investors to listen to YC insights and a lot of learnings YC have seen from their current companies. Gustaf will share his story and talk about how he went from running his own startup Heysan, to being a product lead on Airbnb's growth team, to advising startups at YC.

You'll get a chance to hear about what Y Combinator looks for in founders, and his thoughts on what it takes to build a successful startup.

Y Combinator is a venture fund that works like a seed accelerator, started in March 2005. In 2017 Forbes ranked YC one of two "Platinum Plus Tier U.S. Accelerators". Fast Company has called YC "the world's most powerful start-up incubator". Fortune has called Y Combinator "a spawning ground for emerging tech giants". Y Combinator provides seed funding for startups.

Y Combinator created a new model for funding early stage startups. Twice a year they invest a small amount of money ($120k) in a large number of startups.

Since 2005, YC funded over 1,464 startups. There are a lot of successful startups that Y Combinator invested but here a few of the most spreaded:
AirBnB, DropBox, Heroku, Zenter, Reddit, OMGPOP, Wufoo, Mixpanel.
