UVCA is opening the new round of UVCA Challenge choosing 10 participants of UATECH expo zone on CES-2018.

UVCA CHALLENGE: CES EDITION

UATECH is a joint initiative of the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity (UVCA) Association and Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF), which was established to introduce the capability of Ukrainian Tech products to the global market.

CES – is the biggest tech show in the world, taking place each year in Las Vegas, gathering around 180 000 visitors from all the world at the space equivalent of 35 football fields.


ELECTION

In 2017 to choose 10 best companies that are worthwhile to be exhibited in frames of the UATECH expo, “UVCA Challenge: CES Edition” is organized, which will be conducted in three stages.

  • Collection of applications sent to official mailbox.UVCA and a investors jury commission votes for startups to present at the pitching session.
  • 20 companies, selected by jury, will pitch this September in the Challenge final (current date and jury will be announced soon).
  • Jury will choose 10 best startups to present Ukraine and their products at CES-2018.
UVCA CHALLENGE: CES EDITION

TO ENTER a competition, the projects must meet the following criteria:

  • to develop IoT or hardware project
  • to have a desire and opportunity to attend the CES-2018 in the USA on January 9-12, 2018 (international passport and valid US visa is desirable)
  • to have an English-speaking founder of the start-up and / or its representative
  • to have financial means to cover flight, accommodation and other expenses, associated with stay in the US during the conference
  • to plan growth to at least 5 people (excluding founders and existing staff) in 3 years
  • to have the intention to increase export earnings (income from sales abroad)

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for the first stage of election you have to:

  • Fill in the form.
  • Submit your pitch deck in PDF format.
  • Describe your motivation in a cover letter.

All materials to be sent at uvca.challenge@uvca.eu. Deadline for the application is 31st August (including date).

WHAT DO WINNERS GET

In preparing the Ukrainian Expo, UVCA and WNISEF took main organizational and financial responsibilities to let startups have more time for finishing products, pitches and presentation materials. Elected startups are awarded with:

  • Free space at CES 2018
  • Free branding of the booth
  • Organizational support
  • Mentorship and training
  • Additional media coverage
  • Participation in UVCA Startup Silicon Valley Tour

Please mind that UVCA Challenge winners’ flight and accommodation are not covered by organizers.

It is important to note that the winners of the UVCA Challenge: CES - 2017 can not take part in this year's contest.

If one of the winner refuses to participate in the UATECH expo zone, this opportunity is transferred to the next start-up by voting results of the jury.
