Applications are now open for 2019 Ukrainian Pavilion at CES

UA TECH is a joint initiative of the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA), Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) and Concepter. UA TECH was established to introduce the capability of Ukrainian Tech products to the global market.

Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is the largest tech show in the world, taking place each year in Las Vegas, gathering around 182 000 visitors from all the world at the space equivalent of 35 football fields.

The exhibition will be held on January 8-11, 2019 in Las Vegas. The top 8 Ukrainian startups, selected by a team of Ukrainian and foreign experts and investors, will be presented there.

Selection

16 projects selected will fall into the shortlist and will take part in the pitching session, which will be held on October 11 at UNIT.City Innovation Park. 8 selected startups will go to Las Vegas in January 2019.

Stages of selection:

  • Collection of applications
  • 16 companies, selected by the jury, will pitch in front of top investors from USA, and Ukraine on October 11 at UNIT.City Innovation Park.
  • The jury will choose the best 8 startups to represent Ukraine and their products at CES-2019.

To Enter the competition, the projects must meet the following criteria:

  • develop IoT or hardware project Priority are ideas that relate to:
    • Internet of things (IoT)
    • Smart cities, homes and energy
    • Food Design (Products Made With 3D Printer)
    • Robots and machine intelligence (AI, drone, robots)
    • Entertainment and content production (games, music, VR)
    • Transport technology
    • Health and lifestyle
    • Gadgets for family and home
  • have a minimum viable prototype of the product.
  • have the desire and opportunity to attend the CES-2019 in the USA on January 8-11, 2019 (international passport required, and applying for a valid US visa, if you don’t have one)
  • have an English-speaking founder of the start-up and / or its representative
  • have financial means to cover the flight, accommodation and other expenses, associated with the stay in the US during the conference
  • have the intention to increase export earnings (income from sales abroad)

What do winners get

In preparing the Ukrainian Expo, UVCA, WNISEF and Concepter took main organizational and financial responsibilities to let startups have more time for finishing products, pitches and presentation materials. Elected startups are awarded with:

  • Free space at CES 2019
  • Free branding of the booth
  • Organizational support
  • Mentorship and training
  • Extensive media coverage
